May 2, 2025 Until Further Notice: BURN RESTRICTION IN EFFECT FOR THE RM OF GIMLI
After reviewing current conditions and forecasts, Gimli Fire and Rescue will follow suit with both the Province and our surrounding municipalities and put a fire restriction in place for the RM of Gimli effective immediately. This restriction mimics the provincial Level 1 restriction currently in place. As such, active burn permits are immediately suspended until further notice.
Level 1 fire and travel restrictions include, but are not limited to, the following:
• All fires prohibited between the hours 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Fires outside of these hours must be in an approved campfire or burn pit
• Motorized backcountry travel, including ATVs and other off-road vehicles, is prohibited during specified hours of 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
• Burn permits for essential agricultural, municipal or industrial operations may be considered with the approval of an authorized officer and will include a site inspection with strict conditions.
