RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF GIMLI – RECYCLING PROGRAM

WEEKLY RECYCLING SCHEDULE (Residential and Commercial) – subject to change

Please have your recyclable material contained in a BLUE or CLEAR bag. Collection must be placed out by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled pickup days to ensure collection.

*Commercial collection must be placed at a suitable outdoor location, typically by the refuse collection area 


MONDAY:

The area east of Highway 8 to Lake Winnipeg and between Seagram Road south to Minerva Road, including, but not limited to, the following subdivisions: 

  • Pelican Beach
  • Loni Beach
  • Gimli Urban Centre (incl. Autumnwood, Centre Ave W, and Vesturland)
  • South Beach
  • Willow Island

WEDNESDAY:

The entire Rural area West of Highway 8 from Boundary Road south to PR 229. Also the area east of Highway 8 to Lake Winnipeg and between Seagram Road north to Boundary Road, including, but not limited to, the following subdivisions: 
 
  • Silver Harbour
  • Arnes
  • Spruce Bay
  • Bay Shore Heights
  • Spruce Sands
  • Glen Bay
  • Ness Country
  • Loch Woods
  • Lake Forest
  • Camp Morton
  • Gilwell Estates
 
  • Kings Park
  • Aspen Park
  • Gimli Business Park
  • Brewster Bay
  • North Gimli Estates

FRIDAY:

The area east of Highway 8 to Lake Winnipeg/Winnipeg Beach boundary and between Minerva Road south to PR 229, including, but not limited to, the following subdivisions: 

  • Odin Green
  • Siglavik
  • Miklavik
  • Husavik
  • Sandy Hook
  • Sandy Hook Golf Course
 
  • Boundary Cove
  • Sandy Hook West
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:

For statutory and civic holidays that fall on Monday or Wednesday the pickup will occur the day after the holiday (i.e. Monday will be collected on Tuesday and Wednesday will be collected on Thursday)

For a statutory and civic holiday that falls on Friday, the pickup will occur the day before

(i.e. collection will be Thursday)

THE FOLLOWING RECYCLABLE MATERIAL IS ACCEPTED:

  • Paper - Newspaper, flyers, magazines, catalogues phone books, office paper, wrapping paper, gift bags, envelopes, books etc.
  • All Plastics #1 to #7 – All plastic with a recycling symbol (Some examples: plastic pop bottles, milk/juice bottle, water bottles, vinegar bottles, laundry soap, shampoo bottles, yogurt/pudding containers, bleach containers)
  • Household tin (tin cans)
  • Aluminum cans (drink cans, etc.)
  • Glass jars and glass bottles
  • Cardboard/boxboard (cereal boxes, juice boxes and milk cartons)
  • Beer cans, beer bottles
 
RECYCLING DEPOT SITE:

Residents and businesses may drop off recyclable materials at the depot in the Gimli Business Park at 292 Anson St. if they missed their scheduled pickup or have excess recycling. Illegal dumping of household waste or items other than recyclable materials will not be tolerated and fines will be issued to any person in violation. The depot will be erected as a courtesy drop off for residents and businesses and we ask that everyone respects the site.

Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm  
*Please refrain from leaving items at the Anson Shop during un-manned hours.
